New staff
We are very happy to welcome two new members of staff to IT Services.
Graham Halley started work on 5th January on a 6-month contract. He will be standing in for Brenda Dobie whilst she is away on maternity leave. After a varied, early career which ranged from taxi driving to having a business designing and repairing stringed instruments, Graham retrained and acquired a BA in Information Management in 1996. Subsequently he has gathered a good deal of practical experience of PCs, Microsoft products and, in particular, the design and implementation of Access databases. All this should stand him in good stead for the task of supporting PC users in the Administration.
Caroline Pollard started work on 12th January as the University's new telephone systems administrator. In previous jobs, Caroline worked for Mercury Communications for 5 years in Leicester and has held other posts in involving telephone system, including supervising a large military telephone exchange (with 2,000 extensions) in RAF Episkopi. We hope she will settle quickly into her new and important role.
Welcome both!
