Even more free software at HENSA micros

Computers are now a fact of life throughout Higher Education, as are their associated costs, so it is important for the HE community to be aware that there is a vast amount of software available to them free of charge.

Based at Lancaster University, The Higher Education National Software Archive is a national service funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee. It is not an historical archive, but a large collection of the latest available versions of freely distributed public domain software and shareware.

HENSA maintains its own collections and also mirrors several major world software archives which are copied, then updated daily. Mirroring helps provide the latest software, while improving access for UK users to a huge range of utilities for all the main microcomputer platforms, including DOS, Windows and Macintosh.

HENSA has recently expanded and improved its service, adding a number of new features, including search facilities, subject-based sections and access and adaptive software. Try the new World Wide Web pages at:
