Fast Track Statistics MMath (Hons) 2021 entry
Students who do not possess the qualifications for direct entry to second year but would like to complete the MMath in Statistics in four years may apply to the Fast Track programme.
Fast Track students take the same modules required by the five-year Statistics MMath programme, but at an accelerated rate. Students on the Fast Track take a mixture of first-year and second-year modules in their first year, together with a Fast Track-only first-year module, 'Topics in Mathematics: Problem-solving Techniques', which helps bridge the gap to second-year mathematics.
In their second year, Fast Track students take a mixture of second-year and third-year modules. Students have a slightly higher credit load, on average, to ensure that they are able to graduate in four years with an MMath degree.
Students on the Fast Track programme do not have the opportunity to study abroad.
If you have a question about the Fast Track programme, please contact the School of Mathematics and Statistics at maths-admissions@st-andrews.ac.uk.
