• University of Aberdeen

  The University of Aberdeen's School of Medicine and Dentistry is co-located on one of the largest clinical sites in Europe with extensive anatomy, clinical skills, and research facilities.

  Students will have the opportunity to experience both inner-city medicine and healthcare in remote and rural areas. Aberdeen offers clinical placements at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin and Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, and in locations including the Highlands and Islands, Fort William, Stornoway, Wick, Orkney and Shetland.

• University of Dundee

  The University of Dundee's School of Medicine is fully integrated with Ninewells Teaching Hospital, offering an up-to-date and well-equipped clinical training facility very close to St Andrews. 

  Students will also gain experience in attachments to hospitals and general practices in the wider Tayside region, as well as other centres around Scotland and the UK.

• University of Edinburgh

  The Edinburgh Medical School, University of Edinburgh (College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine), offers a six-year medical degree. The course aims to prepare students for medical practice as a Foundation Year 1 doctor, and courses are designed to develop the knowledge and understanding, the skills and competences, and the attitudes and attributes required by the profession.

  The University of Glasgow's School of Medicine is one of the largest undergraduate schools in the UK. At Glasgow, you will have the opportunity to experience a diverse mixture of clinical attachments that range from national tertiary referral services to single-handed rural general practice.

• Queen Mary University of London

  The Queen Mary University of London's Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry brings together two venerable teaching institutions: St Bartholomew’s Hospital (dating back to 1123) and The London Hospital Medical College (founded in 1785). The hospitals lie in two very different parts of London, the City and the East End, exposing you to a greater diversity of people and their health problems.

  The programme places considerable emphasis on developing your expertise in a whole range of practical areas, including clinical, communication, observation, team work and management skills.

  The University of Manchester's Medical School is the largest medical school in the UK. It has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research, including close links with the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre, whole body cadavers used in anatomy, and the flexibility give to students to create a bespoke education.

  Manchester Medical School has a dedicated St Andrews coordinator, as well as peer mentors and academic advisors, to support your transition from St Andrews to Manchester.
